-- 25 May,2017

Chandigarh, May 25, 2017-

Punjab Congress leaders from top to bottom have starting loot of state’s resources immediately after coming to power and the case of Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjit Singh’s cook and other employees getting mining contracts worth crores is a classic example of what the Congressmen are upto.

Stating this, Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP said, that instead of providing relief to the people of the state as promised, the Congressmen have been looking at the ‘opportunities’ from the day one.

He said that the e-auction of mines by the state government has exposed the greed and manipulation of a Cabinet Minister.

Chugh said it was astonishing to note that Rana Gurjit Singh’s Nepali cook and other employees managed to bag mines worth crores. His cook Amit Bahadur got sand mines worth Rs.26.51 crore in Saidpur Khurd of Nawanshahr. He said it was surprising as to how a cook, cooking meals in Rana’s Sugar Mill could participate in an auction and strike a deal worth over Rs.26 crore.

“Kulwinder Singh, another employee in Rana’s Sugar Mill bagged contracts worth Rs.9.21 crore, Gurinder Singh in Rampur Kalan, Mohali got contracts worth Rs.4.11 crore and yet another employee Balraj Singh got mining contract worth Rs.10.58 crore in Barsal village.

Chugh said out of 32 successful bidders, 4 belonged to Rana’s private Company and managed to bag contracts worth Rs.50 crore.

The BJP leader asked Rana Gurjeet Singh as to what salary he paid these employees that they managed to strike deals worth Rs.50 crore.

Chugh said, he suspects that Rana had himself bagged the contracts through his employees.

He urged Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore to get the matter probed as a minister had used his employees to enter into the mining business.
