Rs. 1,74,644 ADDED TO ELECTION EXPENDITURE OF BJP CANDIDATE FROM GURDASPUR SUNNY DEOL

CHANDIGARH, MAY 15: Acting upon the complaint filed by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee regarding running ‘Fans of Sunny Deol’ on facebook without seeking prior permission from the Election Commission of India, the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee Gurdaspur has issued orders to include Rs. 1,74,644 in the election expenditure of BJP candidate Sunny Deol.

Disclosing this here today, the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju said the Congress Party had lodged a complaint to the Election Commission of India on May 6 in this regard. An enquiry was conducted by Nodal Officer of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee Gurdaspur. A notice was also served to the admin of ‘fans of sunny deol’ page and BJP Candidate to seek their explanation but the both failed to reply within stipulated time frame.

Relying on the veracity of the complaint, the Committee decided to add Rs. 1,74,64 to the expenditure of BJP Candidate from Gurdaspur Mr. Sunny Deol the CEO added.
