The Ashes of 12 Sikhs along with 1 Hindu brought in to Delhi

New Delhi/Chandigarh: (20th July 2018): The ashes of 12 Sikhs along with 1 Hindu, who were killed in the recent terror attack in Afghanistan, were brought in to Delhi today. Their ashes will be immersed at Kiratpur Sahib after the visit of sangat at Gurdwara Guru Arjan Dev Ji New Mahavir Nagar Delhi. The President of SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal, SGPC President Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, and DSGMC President Manjit Singh G.K. gave reverence flowers to ashes and condoled with the family of dead person at IGI Airport.

6 Sikhs who were injured during terror attack also come along for treatment in AIIMS in Delhi. They were Satpal Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Manjit Singh, Maninder Singh, Narinder Singh, Narinder Pal Singh and Ravinder Kaur. Before this, Iqbal Singh was also brought to Delhi for the treatment. Actually the attackers killed the delegation of Sikh members on 01st July 2018 who were going to meet the President in Jalalabad in Afghanistan.

S. Badal while talking to journalists said that it was a huge loss for the Sikh community which would never be filled. The arrangement for the treatment of injured person had been done in AIIMS after the talk with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. DSGMC will take the responsibility of the living of injured Sikhs. The main thing for us is to assure Sikhs who come from Afghanistan that the Indian Sikhs are there by their side.

DSGMC and SGPC has already announced to give 1 lakh rupees each to dead person’s family and 50000 rupees each to injured person. Narinder Singh Khalsa will fight election after the unexpected death of his father Avtar Sigh Khalsa and said to immerse his ashes in India. On this occasion, Senior Akali Leader Bikram Singh Majithia, DSGMC General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the Chairman of Dharam Prachar Committee Paramjit Singh Rana and Head Granthi of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Giani Ranjit Singh were also presented.
