TRIPT BAJWA CALLS FOR REAL ESTATE COMPANIES TO INVEST IN PUNJAB

Chandigarh, September 21:

The Housing and Urban Development Minister, Punjab, Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has exhorted the companies associated with the housing and real estate sector to invest in Punjab and said that Punjab has emerged as the best state to do business after the Captain Amarinder Singh led government came to power. The minister was addressing the industrialists during the course of an invest meet organized here today by the Confederation of the Real Estate Developers of India (CREDAI).

Mr. Bajwa further said that an investment promotion bureau has been established to provide information with regard to the policies, laws and rules of the State of Punjab to the companies intending to do business here. Besides this, all the departments have been connected with the bureau so as to enable each businessman to derive all info from a single source under one roof. He also said that the bureau is responsible for according all the requisite clearances to the industrialists within the fixed time frame. Not only this, the Government is also contemplating a single window system for the industrialists so as to save them the rigours of moving from one place to another in order to get their works done.

The minister also said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to the planned as well as sustained development of the state and that explains why the recognized companies efforts at development would be given further boost. He exhorted the companies to pay attention to small cities as well along with the bigger ones so as to ensure that the people don’t resort to un-recognised colonies.

Divulging more, he said that the un-recognised and the haphazard colonies would be regularized once and would be stopped from haphazard and unauthorized constructions thereon. He also said that soon a policy would have to be framed with regard to construction of houses in the lands owned by the people because the houses so constructed assume the shape of un-recognized colonies very soon.

The minister further elaborated that it would be ensured that the industrialists encounter no difficulty in getting their works done in the housing & urban development and the Town and Country Planning departments. He also said that it is being ensure that each work is completed in these departments as per the fixed timeline.

Listing the steps taken by the Punjab Government to encourage investment, Mr. Bajwa said that all the roads in the state are being turned into express roads to ensure uninterrupted commuting. He also disclosed that regular and uninterrupted power supply, land banking, land pooling and international airports are some of the few key features which make Punjab a best destination for investment purpose.

On the occasion, 13 companies were also honoured for undertaking constructions in accordance with the environment concerns.

Among others who addressed on the occasion included National Chairman of CREDAI Mr. Getamber Anand, Vice Chairman Mr. Manoj Gaur, President Punjab chapter Mr. Kulwant Singh, Convenor Chandigarh Mr. Jagjit Singh Majha and the Director Mr. Sushant Gupta.
