Last year, Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone — Mi A1, which turned out to be the best smartphone in 2017. And, now the company is all set to launch the next Android One smartphone — Mi A2. Xiaomi has officially teased the Mi A2 via a tweet. The tweet reads as follows, “Are you a big fan of #MiA1? You will love this…#Xiaomi #AndroidOne #2isbetterthan1”.In the teaser, the company didn’t reveal much information about the Mi A2, except that the Mi A2 will come with better specifications and will be much better than its successor. The smartphone is rumoured to be the global variant of the Mi 6X and is expected to be launched in Spain on July 24. Although, the company has not yet confirmed whether the smartphone will be unveiled in Spain or not. Additionally, Xiaomi could also launch a cheaper or toned down version of the Mi A2 alongside, as per reports.
Ahead of the launch, a lot has already leaked and revealed about the device. The Mi A2 is rumoured to feature a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will most likely be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset aided by 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.
The device could feature a vertically aligned dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 12MP camera sensor assisted by a LED flash and a f/1.75 aperture, and a 20MP camera sensor with the same aperture. On the front, the Mi A2 is said to sport a 20MP camera sensor for selfies. Also, there is a possibility that the smartphone may offer an AI Portrait mode. The handset could be backed by a 3010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Furthermore, the Mi A2 is expected to offer Bluetooth v5.0, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the pricing, the Mi A2 could cost CHF 289 (approximately Rs 20,000) for the 32GB variant, CHF 329 (approximately Rs 22,800) for the 64GB variant and CHF 369 (approximately Rs 25,600) for the 128GB variant.
