Our History

Des Pardes Times News Paper is a pioneer & leading Punjabi News Paper in Canada and US. It was established in April 2002 by Gurbhalinder Singh Sandhu, Publisher & Editor-in-Chief of Des Pardes Times. Des Pardes Times covers wide range of subjects with insight, accuracy, thoroughness and well rounded perspective with latest news and variety of subjects- be it economy, politics, health, entertainment science & technology. Our news reporters are located in all strategic and significant locations all over the World. Mr. Sandhu has honor to work with most popular & well known news papers in India. His natural talents and skills are well seasoned with higher education in journalism. Mr. Sandhu is well known and has a great deal of respect, business reputation among the communities in Canada and USA. Mr. Sandhu traveled all over the world and interviewed leading personalities and prominent figures of the world. He is an author and co-writer of many best selling books, especially, the one about his travel around the world with many other short stories and fiction panorama’s.

Des Pardes Times is always part of the media team, in coverage of any Canadian government official visits to India or other Asian countries. Some media delegation were in 2003 with former Prime Minister Hon. Mr. Jean Chrétien’s visit to India & Golden Temple in Amritsar, January 2004 with Hon. Mr. Ralph Klein former Premier of Alberta and Hon. Mr. Gene Zwozdesky Minister of Alberta’s visit to India & Punjab. Mr. Sandhu and Des Pardes Times received various recognition and awards from different types of institutions and organizations, including Prime Ministers Office.

Target Markets & Products

At Des Pardes Times, we share a very special relationship with our customers which goes beyond that of a publisher and reader. A relationship based on our common need to stay well informed . Des Pardes Times target market stretches from East coast to West coast in Canada, with its two editions west edition (Edmonton edition) and east edition (Toronto edition). US edition covers California and other major cities in United States. Des Pardes Times is the only leading newspaper & publish in Alberta, and target almost entire South Asian and East Indian community. In April 2004 Des Pardes Times released Edmonton’s first South Asian business Yellow Pages Directory. In 2005 & 2006 we released two separate editions for Edmonton and Calgary South Asian business Yellow Pages. In April 2007-2008 we released 3rd edition of Des Pardes Times business Pages. Every year in April Des Pardes Times organizes a major concert and cultural program for the community, in which one of the most famous artists and other personalities from all over the world participate including Mr. Didar Singh Bains biggest farmer in the world and top businessman in US. It was a major success because free entry for community, thousands of people has seen this event. Des Pardes Times released a DVD of it’s 5th anniversary cultural program. More than 20,000 copies were released to promote Des Pardes Times’ consistent supporters and advertiser. Des Pardes Times organize major family events and other local activities for raising funds and community involvement, to help out different organizations to promote awareness on top community and other issues. Des Pardes Times every year Celebrate anniversary in April and organizes a major concert and cultural program. In Jubilee Auditorium Edmonton one of the best Auditoriums in Canada.
