Cong govt running away from discussing its one year of failed promises and misrule – SAD

-- 08 March,2018

Chandigarh, The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said the Congress government was running away from answering its one year of failed promises and misrule by holding an extremely short budget session.

Condemning the Congress government for deciding to hold a nine day budget session which was interlaced with several holidays, SAD spokesman Maheshinder Singh Grewal said it was surprising that the government was afraid of debating completion of its first year in office. “The importance this government attaches to to the budget and discussion on budget allocations is also reflected by this decision to have a truncated budget session. We demand this session be increased in the interest of Punjab and Punjabis to discuss peoples issues”, he added.

Stating that the SAD would expose the government in the forthcoming session, he said the party would demand discussion on the status of promises made to the people by the Congress government. “We want the government to answer why it has betrayed and deceived farmers by denying them the promised complete loan waiver and why all promises made to the youth and under privileged sections of society remain unfulfilled”.
