ECI ISSUES WARNING TO DR. AMAR SINGH FOR MCC VIOLATION

Chandigarh, 14 May: The Election Commission of India today issued warning to Congress candidate from Parliamentary Constituency Fatehgarh Sahib Dr. Amar Singh to be careful in future while making any statements during election campaign for the current General Election to the House of the People, 2019.

Disclosing this here today Chief Electoral Officer Dr. S. Karuna Raju said that Mr. Darbara Singh Guru, SAD leader submitted  a complaint against Dr. Amar Singh, INC leader alleging that he made highly objectionable false allegations/comments against him in an election meeting on 22th April, 2019 at Ahmedgarh, District Sangrur. The statements of Dr. Amar Singh were widely published in the electronic and print media.

Dr. Raju said Dr. Amar Singh had tendered unconditional apology to the Commission for any lapse on his part in this matter.

CEO further said that Commission has find that Dr. Amar Singh violated of provision of Para 2 of Part I of “General Conduct of “Model Code of Conduct, for the guidance of Political Parties and Candidates” so hereby, warns Dr. Amar Singh, INC leader to be more careful in future while making any statements during election campaign for the current General Election to the House of the People, 2019.
