36 more bombs recovered in Dehlon area’s Harnampur village

-- 16 February,2017

Ludhiana, A day after hand grenades and bombs were recovered from Alamgir, 36 more bombs were found at a vacant plot in Dehlon area’s Harnampur village today.

A passerby found the explosives dumped. On being informed, senior police officials and other personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

Harnampur village is a few kilometers from Alamgir.

The police put up sand bags near the explosives and informed the Army. They suspected that the same persons must have dumped explosive at the two places.

The police claimed that someone must have got rusted explosives from a scrap shop. To avoid questioning, he abandoned the explosives in vacant plots.

Meanwhile, 24 hours after ammunition was found dumped in Alamgir, an bomb disposal team of the Army failed to reach the spot.

A bomb disposal team of the PAP, Jalandhar, reached Ludhiana around 5.30 pm today and inspected the spot. The team would dispose of the ammunition recovered from Alamgir and Harnampur, said ADCP Surinder Lamba.
