9 dead, 6 injured as tempo falls into gorge in J&K

Nine people were killed and six others were injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down a 200-foot-deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, the police said on Wednesday.
The Tempo Traveller fell into the gorge at the Chechi Nallah area in Mahore belt on Wednesday morning, Reasi SSP Tahi Sajad Bhat said.
The injured were airlifted to Jammu.
The tempo was on its way to Mahore from Buddan when the mishap took place around 8.45 am.
The SSP said nine people were killed and six others were injured; a rescue operation had been launched.
The injured were being shifted to hospital and efforts were being made to recover the bodies, the SSP said.
