All scope of horse-trading has ended, Yeddy must resign: Gehlot

-- 19 May,2018

New Delhi, May 19

Congress hopes to retain power in Karnataka came alive moments before the 4 pm trust vote in Karnataka with party leadership asking BJP’s two-day Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to resign.
AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot, the principal Congress strategist for Karnataka, said, “All possibilities of buying MLAs have come to an end. BS Yedyurappa should resign now. He should have ideally resigned after the apex court advanced the floor test to Saturday plugging all scope for horse-trading.”
Gehlot said all Congress and JDS lawmakers were intact and there were no divisions.
Yeddyurappa does not have the numbers, Gehlot said, adding that missing Congress MLAs would also come and stand with their party.
There are reports now of the BJP failing to muster the majority in the 222-member assembly where they have just 104 seats but need 112 for majority.
The Congress and JDS together have 115.
