Amit Shah mixes up Yeddy with Siddaramaiah, calls former ‘most corrupt’

New Delhi, March 27

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah was left with egg on his face for having mixed up his own party’s BS Yeddyurappa with incumbent Siddaramaiah, mistakenly calling the former’s government “the most corrupt in the country”.

At a press briefing on Tuesday after election date for Karnataka was announced, Shah said: “A retired judge of the Supreme Court recently said that if one were to hold a competition for the most corrupt government in the country, Yeddyurappa government would win the fist place”.

Of course, he corrected himself when former BJP Karnataka chief Prahlad Joshi pointed it out, but his faux pas stunned former chief minister Yeddyurappa, who was sitting next to him.

The error left Opposition Congress chuckling.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said: “He has spoken the truth, it’s not a mistake, he is right”.

Congress social media in-charge Divya Spandana, who also goes by the name Ramya, took to Twitter saying: “”Who knew Amit Shah could also speak the truth – we all concur with you Amit ji B S Yeddyurappa is the most corrupt!”

In another tweet, Ramya said this was not the first time Shah had expressed such feelings towards Yeddyurappa.

“This isn’t the first time btw- what exactly are Amit Shah’s feelings towards yedyurappa? All’s not good in the hood,” her tweet said.
