Badal holds interviews for Gidderbaha college at PU

Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal visited Panjab University here today. He is the president of the managing committee of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women in Gidderbaha.He had come to take interviews for four regular teaching posts in the college.Sources say that he has visited the campus after four years. His last visit was also for the same reason. The interviews were held at the guest house. The four teaching posts were for commerce, physical education, mathematics and Punjabi.The interviews were conducted by a five-member panel which included the Vice-Chancellor’s nominee, a subject expert nominated by the VC, principal of the college along with one or two members of the management which included Parkash Singh Badal.Sources informed that VC Arun K Grover met Badal along with the Dean of College Development Committee, Parvinder Singh, in the guest house. Badal later met the VC in his office as well.Badal is the head of the managing committees of four colleges in Muktsar, including Dashmesh College in his native village. Earlier, Surinderpal Kaur, deceased wife of Badal, held the post.His presence in the interviews points towards Badal being more active in the working of these colleges now.
