Badals stand exposed on SGPC elections issue: Harppal Cheema

Chandigarh, February 14

           Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Vidhan Sabha and senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Harpal Cheema said here Thursday that the Badals stood exposed  when MLA H.S. Phoolka brought a resolution before the house seeking immediate elections to the Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC)  pending for a pretty long time now.

Addressing media persons in the press gallery, Cheema said that when chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, as also the House, gave a nod to the  plea, it came as a shot of the sledge hammer to Akali MLAs, including Majithia, who neither supported or rejected the motion. Cheema insisted upon clearing their stand on the motion.

He said that instead of making their stand point clear and categorical thereon, the SAD MLAs started their usual rant, saying that both (AAP and Phoolka) were two sides of the same coin. It is worth a mention that Phoolka had already tabled the resolution on the basis of prime minister’s reply to his letter.
