BUSY’ KERJIWAL REFUSES TO MEET VERMA AND SIRSA ON WATER CRISIS OF DELHI AS THOUSANDS CRY ON SCARCITY OF WATER

-- 18 May,2017

New Delhi, High drama was witnessed today at the residence of the Chief Minister and AAP convener Mr Arvind Kejriwal as the latter not only refused to meet the Delhi BJP MP Mr. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma and Delhi BJP MLA Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa who had reached him home to meet after being refused appointed for continuous two days but also used back door of his home to fled. On the spot Minister Mr Gopal Rai was gheraod by Mr. Verma and Mr. Sirsa but he too fled away in his vehicle after which BJP leadership broke earthern pitchers (Gharas).
When Mr. Verma and Mr. Sirsa reached home of CM after two hours of waiting, officials deputed there asked them on the purpose of their meeting who told the officials that they want to take up the grave issue of water crisis being faced by thousands of the natives of Delhi during last few days. After having a word with the staff on the agenda of the visiting dignitaries Mr. Kejriwal flatly refused to meet them citing his ‘busy’ schedule.
Stunned at the shocking behavior of the Chief Minister Mr. Verma and Mr. Sirsa told the media that they were trying to meet the Chief Minister Mr. Kejriwal for the last two days but they were refused appointment as the CM was ‘busy’. They said that as a last resort both of them decided to reach the official residence of the Chief Minister today to meet him and apprise him the crisis being faced by the people of the Delhi and need of taking urgent steps to take them out of this crisis.
They said that they were surprised enough to see that on a working day CM was enjoying ‘holiday’ at home and refused to meet them to listen to the problem of people of Delhi.
Lashing out at Kejriwal for pursuing his political agenda and going ahead with his meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamta Banerjee instead of meeting both the representatives of the people of Delhi, Mr. Verma and Mr. Sirsa said that now it was before the people who was interested in working for the betterment of the people and who wants to use constitutional bodies for his personal and petty political gains.
It is worth mentioning here that Mr Verma and Mr. Sirsa had also written a letter to the Chief Minister Mr. Kejriwal apprising him the alarming situation of water crisis across Delhi & NCR as thousands of complaints received in the last few days from general public regarding acute shortage/no supply of water in their areas for the last many days due to which anger among public is increasing day by day.
They have said that being elected members, we are answerable to the society. People are not having even a glass of drinking water at their home. Delhi Jal Board allegedly has a nexus with private water suppliers, who charge exorbitant sums for what should be a fundamental right and don’t even provide clean water. It is a failure of Delhi Government which cannot provide water to its citizen despite having advance knowledge of scarcity of water in Delhi.
They also reminded Mr. Kejriwal that he had submitted an Affidavit in the Court that Punjab water cannot be diverted to Haryana knowing that it is the Haryana State only supplying the water to Delhi people. It is also being observed that no law has been introduced/made to discourage wastage of water in Delhi and run any drive for water harvesting by the Delhi Jal Board under Delhi Government.
Expressing surprise that when people of Delhi are crying for water, the CM was sitting at his home in comfortable zone. And even not meeting the people who have elected him with the good majority to sort out their water crisis.
Demanding a white paper on the issue and urgent calling of all party meeting to discuss the alarming water situation in Delhi without any further delay, they said that they would also suggest that special session of Delhi Vidhan Sabha should be called to discuss and resolve alarming water crisis in Delhi for the welfare of the society.
