DSGMC TO TAKE OUT NAGAR KIRTAN FROM DELHI TO NANKANA SAHIB BY ROAD ON OCCASION OF 55OTH PRAKASH PURAB OF GURU NANAK DEV JI

Chandigarh/New Delhi,  April 1 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has planned to take out a grand Nagar Kirtan from Delhi to  Nankana Sahib by road on the occasion of 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji.  This was disclosed by the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa and General Secretary Mr. Harmeet Singh Kalka

                In a statement released here today, both the DSGMC leaders said that process to take out Nagar Kirtan has already been initiated and the Sikh body has written to Pakistan High Commissioner to facilitate a meeting between the organising committee of  Pakistan for 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji so that all preparations and mandatory clearances can be obtained timely. They said that lakhs of people will participate in this Nagar Kirtan on the historic occsion.

                Mr. Sirsa said that the DSGMC has planned to make this historic Prakash Purab a memorable one. He said that first time in the history of the country a Kirtan Darbar will be organised on   September 21st at IP Stadium in National Capital in which 1100 children from the schools of the DSGMC will simultaneously recite Shabads and perform Kirtan. He said that as special laser show on the life of Guru Nanak Dev ji will also be organised on this occasion.

                The DSGMC President said that second such grand Kirtan Darbar has been planned for October and it will be held on 12th October at India Gate in which world famous 550 Ragi Singhs will simultaneously perform Kirtan with traditional instruments (tanti saz). He said that thousands of people from all walks all life will be part of both these Kirtan Darbar programs. He said that the DSGMC has already held meetings with Ragi Singhs and other concerned persons in this regard.

                Mr. Sirsa said that apart from these three main functions the DSGMC is planning a series of other functions as well. He said that this is a lifetime occasion for us as the 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji is being celebrated by not only Sikhs alone but people from all walks of life and this is being celebrated worldwide on a grand scale.
