ECI issued instructions regarding MCC

Chandigarh, March 13: In connection with the Model code of Conduct Election Commission of India has today issued instruction to all the Offices/Departments of States concerned to not to send any reference directly to the Commission. Such proposals shall be sent to the Commission through Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) after careful examination by the Screening Committee constituted for the purpose, under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the State.

All Offices/Departments should ensure that no proposal is sent to the Commission directly.

All the references should invariably be examined by the Screening Committees constituted for the purpose and the proposal cleared by the committee shall only be sent to the Commission by the CEO along with his specific comments.
