-‘Bijla Andolan’ will continue till govt. slashes elctricity fares

The Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress govt. and local administration seems to wake up from deep slumber after ‘Bijli Andolan’ started by Aam Aadmi Party gets pace. In response to AAP’s ‘Bijli hearings’, the electricity department has started meeting the people suffering from hafty electricity bills. AAP is raising the issue at ground level for last few months.
Speaking on the ‘Bijli Andiolan’ AAP state core committee chairman and MLA from Budhlada Principal Budhram said that the MLAs of AAP raised the issue in Budget session of vidhan sabha with full strength. He said that the govt. has decided that only units consumed after 200 will be charged from the families that are availing the facility of free power upto 200 units rather than the whole consumption. He said that the results of ‘Bijli Andolan’ are visible and party will continue to raise the voice of people of state.
Principal Budhram said that AAP MLAs alongwith the effected people addressed the media after the session of Vidhan sabha and Darshan Singh, Saroop Singh and Major Singh of village Tole Majra told the media that they have got bills of 7,53,000, 49,000, 26000 respectively. He said that the officers of electricity department contaced these pesrons after the issue was raised and the hafty amount bills were settled on the spot. He said multiple cases of department providing relief to consumers are being reported from Sangrur, Mansa,Budhlada,Bathinda,Ludhiana,Ferozepur,Fatehgarh Sahib,Khadoor Sahib also.
Principal Budhram said that the struggle for the rights of common people will go on till the govt. provide permanent solution to the consumers. He said in coming days the AAP leaders and volunteers will start meeting the electricity department officers alongwith the effected people and demand for the relief. Budhram said that volunteers will gherao the electricity offices in case the deaprtment fails to deliver justice.
