Eng vs India 3rd Test Day 5: Virat Kohli’s India beat England by 203 runs, series 2-1

-- 22 August,2018

Nottingham: Virat Kohli and co completed a dominant 203-run win in the final day of the third Test against England here on Wednesday, thereby making the five-Test series 2-1.

England resumed the day at 311-9, with James Anderson and Adil Rashid at the crease.

Jasprit Bumrah had on Tuesday claimed his second five-wicket haul in Tests when he dismissed Stuart Broad for 20 runs.

This was the visitors second Test win in Trent Bridge, with their previous win coming back in 2007.

Kohli had played knocks of 97 runs and 103 runs in the first and second innings respectively. While he had built a 159-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane in the first innings, his 113-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara in the second innings was equally important.

Jos Buttler (106 runs) and Ben Stokes (62 runs) fought hard, but the team fell way short of the target.

In fact, Buttler had brought up his maiden Test century which in turn went in vain.
