Extortion Racket in Jail in cahoots with Jail minister Randhawa: Grewal

-- 15 December,2018

Chandigarh, December 15: The jail minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been in league with notorious gangsters have been patronizing extortionists to make fast buck and when the lid was blown up in Patiala Jail, Randhawa swung into action and as ordered an inquiry, without suspensions and any time frame work.

Making a scathing attack on the functioning of the ministry of jails,SAD leader Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal. said the facts revealed are so startling and shocking that either chief minister Randhawa shold suo-moto quit the ministerial post or chief minister Amarinder Singh should sack him without any delay.

Grewal said the modus operandi was eye opener and nerve wrecking where the hardened criminals with deep pockets were subjected to ruthless torture by notorious gangsters for days and nights after switching off the CCTV cameras in jail just to extort lakhs of Rupees. The booty was shared between the gangsters, jail official and of course major share of the cake to the political masters.

As per preliminary reports, Patila Jail superintend Rajan Kapoor used the services of gangster Gaurav Sharma alias Goru Bachha and other gangsters Amit Bhura, Kali to torture one Brajesh Thakur, accused in Muzafarpur shelter home sex scandal and sent to Patiala jail on the orders of the Supreme Court. The gang led by Jail suptt, Kapur extorted RS 15 in case and promise to buy a flat for him in Muzzaffarpur.

Shockingly, Grewal said Randhawa was privy to this sordid affair yet he kept stoic silence though the senior police and intelligence department of the rank of ADGP had confirmed the scandal. Ideally, the minister should have tabled the facts of the case in the Vidhan Sabha which is in session. This makes it crystal clear that minister himself was in league with criminals and trying to suppress it under the carpet.

“What is revealed in public domain I mere tip of ice berg, Grewal asserted that Kapur had also extorted huge money from builders through Goru Bachcha adding that dozens of such skeletons would tumble out from the minister’s cup-board once an impartial inquiry begins.

Senior Akali leader was convinced of ministers’ patronage as even after such stark revelations, the accused Kapur is let off with just transfer. Such a mild reprimand for crime of such gigantic proportion is beyond anybody’s imagination.
