Finally truth prevails against Sikh genocide: Tanmanjeet Dhesi

-- 19 December,2018

Chandigarh, December 19 :  Hailing the strongly worded judgment spanning over 200 pages, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP (from Slough, UK) calls this verdict a ray of hope for the victims and their families who have been waiting for justice for over three decades. Surely, it was a genocide against humanity and those victims were denied justice due to political patronage.

While appreciating the judgment on mass killings in 1984 against Sikhs, Dhesi stressed that many were still awaiting justice, after 34 long years.  He further said Sajjan Kumar has been convicted of conspiracy to murder, promoting enmity and acting against communal harmony.

He added that to get justice in India is very slow due to cumbersome procedures and over burdened judiciary, in need of an overhaul. However, this landmark judgment will no doubt reignite the hope for justice amongst those who lost their kin in this massacre.
