-- 05 March,2019

Chandigarh, March 5

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a serious view of the facilities being provided by the government to criminals lodged in various jails in the state, which it say, was making mockery of the law.

Accusing the Captain Amarinder Singh government of rolling out facilities to criminals like Nirmal Singh Bhangu, owner of Pahal Group, usurping public money worth crores and IG Paramraj Singh Umranagal, the accused in the desecration  of Guru Granth Sahib and firing incident at Behbal Kalan, currently lodged in jails.

AAP had severely slammed the government for providing all facilities in the jail, unlike their other inmates. The Punjab unit chief of the AAP and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and Lok Sabha candidate of the party from Faridkot Prof Sadhu Singh said in a joint press statement said, that the government was obliging the criminals who had been behind sacrilegious acts. They said by doing so, the government was playing cruel joke with the people of the state, besides making mockery of the law and order machinery.

Mann said that the Pearl company owned by Bhangu had usurped crores of rupees from the people especially in Malwa region but the govt. despite of taking action against him is hell bent to provide facilities to him. He demanded that the govt. must sell the property related to Bhangu and Peral group to repay the money of effected people. He expressed unhappiness over govt. spending crores of rupees for security and facilities being provided to Bhangu.

Prof. Sadhu Singh said that Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress govt. is hand in glove with the criminals and violators. He said as per the media reports I.G. Umranangal is being given special treatment inside the jail and people are meeting him without any hassle violating the norms of jails. He said the act of jail authorities will further give power to the criminals.

Prof. Sadhu Singh Akali leaders even without registering their names in visitors list meeting Umranangal in jail is against  the law of the land and it also exposes the bonhomie between Captain and Badal. He demanded that the govt. must take action against those responsible for the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib so that the justice must be provided to the sikh sangat. He asked Capt. Amarinder must fulfill his promise made before the elections and put behind the bar people responsible for killing innocent people.
