‘I DON’T NEED TO SPEND ALL MY TIME IDENTIFYING PROBLEMS CREATED BY YOU SUKHBIR’, SAYS CAPT AMARINDER

SAYS HIS GOVT’S WORK WOULD SPEAK FOR ITSELF WHEN PEOPLE VOTE FOR CONGRESS IN PUNJAB ONCE AGAIN

Chandigarh, April 9: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has castigated Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal over his baseless allegation of the incumbent government being indifferent to the problems of the people in the state.

Reacting strongly to the shameless and unfounded comment of the former deputy chief minister, Captain Amarinder derided him for comparing the spate of Akali rallies with the massive development and welfare work done by the government on the ground. He wondered how Sukhbir could have the gall to accuse him of being indifferent to the problems of the people after plunging the state into utter ruin and devastation during the 10 years of misrule of the BJP-SAD alliance.

The Chief Minister asserted that the only thing he was indifferent to was the opinion of Sukhbir, who was just a publicity-seeking politician looking for photo-ops to remain in the public eye. “I have a government to run, and unlike Sukhbir, who does not believe in positive governance, my only concern is the people’s problems, which we have been working hard in the past two years to solve,” said Captain Amarinder.

The people had given him and his party the mandate to address their grievances, which every citizen of Punjab, except Sukhbir, was fully aware of, said the Chief Minister. “Sukhbir took 10 years to create the problems, and now wants me to spend all my term identifying those problems?” quipped Captain Amarinder, adding that he did not need to go all over the state to find out their problems, as he was well aware of the woes of every section of the society.

“The people of Punjab do not want to see me gallivanting all over the state for 45 days. They want me to spend all this time constructively, to deliver on our promises,” said the Chief Minister. Such antics by Sukhbir did not help the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the 2017 Assembly polls, or the various by-elections and other elections in the state thereafter, and will not help them now, the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister said he would make judicious use of his time to balance the demands of his job and as a loyal soldier of the Congress, which was all set to sweep the Lok Sabha elections, ousting the BJP and its allies, like the SAD, whose only agenda was their own personal progress at the cost of the welfare of the people.

His government’s work of the last two years will speak for itself when the people of Punjab would once again cast their votes in favour of the Congress, which they trusted as the only party that could alleviate their woes, said Captain Amarinder.

“The only thing I am indifferent to is your opinion, @officeofssbadal. You have the gall to comment on my govt’s performance after ruining Punjab for a decade! If you think such baseless comments will help you in #LokSabhaEelctions2019 you’d better think again,” Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted, as he took Sukhbir head-on over the SAD leader’s deceitful remarks.

‪“I do not need to spend all my time going around the state to identify the problems you have created @officeofssbadal. Every citizen of Punjab, except you, knows what the problems are and I do not need photo ops to show what I’m doing to resolve them,” he further tweeted.
