Kingpin of land mafia has no moral right to stay as minister: Sarbjit Kaur Manuke

-- 26 February,2019

Chandigarh, February 26

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has on Tuesday reiterated its demand for the resignation of cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for his involvement in the multi-crore Grand Manor Homes scam, saying that legal cases should be slapped against the government officials accused in the multi-crore scam.

In a statement issued from party headquarters in Chandigarh here, Deputy Leader of Opposition (Dy LoP) Manuke said that it had been almost a week since minister’s involvement in the land scam was reported, but neither the local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu nor the party command had taken initiated any action against him even as audio clips of his threatening the investigating agencies had been pouring in, thick and fast, he said.

Manuke accused the government for offering a protective cover to the accused minister, which clearly indicated that they were hand in glove with the mafia calling the shots. She said that Captain Amarinder and Sidhu should come clean on the issue and inform the people why no action was being taken against the tainted minister.

She demanded that if the Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Captain Amarinder Singh have  to  prove their zero tolerance on corruption rhetoric, the minister be immediately  sacked.
