People of Punjab are one on teaching the liar Captain Government: Principal Budhram

-- 07 March,2019

Chandigarh, March 7

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has brought the Captain Amarinder Singh government on board to making public its claim on allotting free housing flats to as many as 1.30 lakh homeless in the rural area in the state. AAP party has termed it as yet another white lie by the government, stating that it should tell where these     flats had been allotted and to whom.

In a statement issued from party in Chandigarh here on Thursday, Punjab wing chief of the party and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said an advertisement announcing the allotment of 5-marla housing flats to 1.30 people across the state for free had raised eyebrows since the scheme had not yet been launched. In an interview to the media, CM had himself expressed his ignorance about the scheme. Terming it as a matter of grave concern, AAP said that the government was misusing public money.

Principal Budhram said that this was not for the first time the government had lied, it had, on a number of occasions, misled the people of the state lying just to garner political mileage. He said the government had misled the people of the state, especially the farming community, by holding mammoth public functions on ‘pseudo’ farm loan waiver to gain cheap publicity at a price.

Bhagwant Mann said Punjab was the only state in north where electricity tariff was highest ever compared to other states of the country. He lamented that the government did nothing to address the issue even as it bragged about doing precious little, which showed its anti-people stance. People, he said, waiting for the right time to teach the government a lesson.
