PUNJAB’S MPS DEMAND TRIBUTES BE PAID TO SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH IN PARLIAMENT

A delegation of the Members of Parliament from Punjab met the Speaker Lok Sabha Mrs Sumitra Mahajan today demanding that tributes be paid to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev in the Parliament.

The delegation included Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Gurdaspur Lok Sabha MP Mr Sunil Jakhar, MP Ludhiana Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu, Patiala MP Mr Dharamvir Gandhi and Sangrur MP Mr Bhagwant Mann. Mr Sunil Jakhar also demanded that floral tributes should be paid to the statue of Bhagat Singh installed at Parliament campus.

Mr Sunil Jakhar stated that Bhagat Singh steered India’s struggle for independence into a new direction and made entire nation step forward for a common cause. He added that the contribution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh towards freedom struggle can never be forgotten.

Mr Jakhar stated that Bhagat Singh was an inspiration for our youngsters in today’s time too. He added that youngsters’ emotions were attached with the great martyr. So it was mandatory that tributes be paid to the Martyr in Parliament. He also appealed other MPs to reach on March 23 for paying tributes to the martyrs.
