Chandigarh : The Shiromani Akali Dal today hit back at the state Congress leadership including its MLAs for advising the SAD on its internal matters and said that instead of advising us, the Congress leadership including MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa should advise his national boss Rahul Gandhi to quit Congress and politics as under his leadership the position of Congress party has nose dived nationally and Congress has lost almost all the election fought under his leadership since 2014 general elections. The party also said that it was known to one and all that how the Congress has managed to win Gurdaspur election by blatantly misusing the government machinery, indulging in political vendetta cases and pressurizing Sarpanches to toe line of ruling party or face enquiries.
In a statement released from party head office here today, the SAD Spokesmen Mr. Maheshinder Singh Grewal and Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha said that it was first time in the history of the state that voting percent has gone to the lower level of 56 percent only because the Congress party misused the government machinery full throttle to suppress their opponents and in the atmosphere of fear and horror the common man preferred to keep a distance from voting. They said that if the Congress party was patting its back on the win, it should realize the fact that its vote share has decreased drastically in this Gurdaspur election as compared to Punjab Assembly elections. They said that of the 56 percent votes polled in this elections only 50 percent means of the total voters only 25 percent people had voted for it. They further said that Mr. Randhawa has forgot that he had won his own election by just 1000 votes when over 80 percent have participated in the election process, in these circumstances he himself can judge his co called popularity.
They also asked the Congress leadership if they were not aware that their own constitution commission of enquiry of Justice (retd) Mehtab Singh has received more than 114 complaints of vendetta case occurred during the last six months of Congress rule. They said that leadership of the Congress party has wrecked havoc with every democratic institution and elected representatives are being forced to either resign or face police cases. They said that in such circumstances do anyone can expect fare poll of Gurdaspur ?
Mr. Grewal and Mr. Valtoha said that if losing elections is a plea than they should ask their national boss Rahul Gandhi whom the party leaders fondly call ‘Pappu’ who had led the party to worst debacle in general elections of 2014 and later in many states the Congress lost because he proved to be worst face for the Congress party.
Mr. Grewal and Mr. Valtoha said that people of the state have realized that this Government was hell bent on making life of the common man miserable. They said it seems that Congress MLAs are unable to see the daily dharnas in from the Chief Minister house either by farmers, government employees or other section of the society. They said that Congress had grasped power by promising moon to the people and now instead of fulfilling its promises the Congress government was levying new taxes on daily basis on the people.
Both the SAD Spokesmen said that people are fed up from this government only in six months and they are waiting for the general elections of 2019 to teach this party a lifetime lesson. They said that it was very surprising to see that Congress leadership is worried about the SAD and advising it on the internal matters of the party. They said that instead the Congress MLAs should ponder over what they have to do to save the face of the Congress in 2019 as its national leadership has already failed.
They reiterated that the SAD had fought against Congress oppression and will continue to do so for ensure safety of people.
