SAD STRONLGY CONDEMNS INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE OF GOVERNMENT TOWARDS PROTESTING NURSES

Chandigarh, March 1 : The Shiromani Akali Dal has strongly  condemned the highly indifferent and insensitive attitude of the Congress government towards the protesting nurses of the Patiala Medical College and Rajindra Hospital Patiala.

        In a strong worded statement released here today the SAD General Secretary Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia said that it is shocking to see that the Congress government is totally insensitive and indifferent to the genuine and just demand of the nurses to regularize their services. He said that the Congress government, which was formed on the basis of totally misleading, false and baseless promises, has betrayed the nurses and other contractual employees who had been promises regularization of the service on the eve of the Vidhan Sabha elections in the state. He said that  in desperation of getting their demands met these nurses resorted to strong protests including jumping from the rooftop of the hospital and were fatally injured in this protests but the government has failed to take care of their concerns.

        Mr. Majithia said that the Congress government during  its two year rule has completely failed to fulfill promise made to even a single section of the society. It has betrayed the farmers with the loan waive promises, betrayed contractual employees with promise of regularization, betrayed dalits and economically weaker sections by promises manifold increase to the  welfare schemes.

        Meanwhile the Former Information and Public Relations Minister has also strongly condemned  misbehavior with the media persons in the hospital premises who were performing their duty. He said that it is most unfortunate that media is fourth pillar of our democracy and it should be given respect but the government is using coercive measures against it only to scare it to stop it from unmasking the truth of the Congress party.
