SIT in Amritsar Dalit Atrocity ordered by National SC Commission

Chandigarh, May 25.

Taking note of the blatant misuse of power by Congress workers in village Bagga near Amritsar, National Commission for Schedule Castes ordered Punjab Police to form SIT (Special Investigation Team) headed by an IG posted at Punjab Police Hqr at Chandigarh and submit action taken report in one week i.e. 31st May, informed Vineet Joshi State Secretary Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab here today in a press release.

It is pertinent to note that on May 21st BJP leaders led by State Secretary Vineet Joshi complained to commission followed by SAD-BJP delegation led by former minister Bikram Singh Majithia on 23rd May.

The Commission has asked SIT to specifically investigate the role of police officials for not taking the appropriate action on complaint registered by SC Kashmir Singh’s family on 181 on 17th & 30th April.

Commission further asked to investigate the involvement of Police Officials to act for the alleged political revenge against petitioner’s family and links with any powerful person of the area to take any biased action against the victims.

Commission also ordered to probe alleged illegal confinement of complainant Kashmir Singh at police Station for 2-3 days, Beating of Kashmir Singh’s son in Police Custody, attempt to outrage the modesty of Kashmir’s wife and daughter, reasons of FIR on Kashmir Singh ignoring his first filed complaints and reasons for delay in registration of FIR from victim’s side.
