SURPRISE CHECKING IN ITI EXAMS ON PUNJAB GOVERNMENT DIRECTIONS: CHANNI

· Technical Education Minister takes serious note of reports of copying in practical exams at private ITI Budhlada

· Asks Deputy Commissioner to submit report within three days

Chandigarh, January 31: The Punjab Technical Education Minister has once again retreated that no one would be allowed to play with the future of the youth of the state. He said that the Punjab government had already asked the Deputy Commissioners to take make surprise visits during the exams to completely stop copying in the ITI’s & Polytechnic college exams. He said that the instructions’ regarding this had already been issued.

He said that as per government instructions the government officials are conducting surprise checks in the ITI exams. The minister has taken a serious note of the reports of copying in practical exams in private ITI at Budhlada district Mansa.

The Minister called an emergency meeting of the senior officials of the Technical Education & Industrial Training Board at his official residence in the evening to discuss the matter. He once again directed the officials to take concrete steps to put an end to copying in the exams of ITIs and Polytechnic Colleges. He has also sought the report of Budhlada incident within three days from the Deputy commissioner Mansa.

Mr. Channi said that if found irregularities in the report of the deputy commissioner the private ITI Budhlada would be shut down. He said that this would set an example for others also and if any institute found involved in mass copying stringent action would be taken.

Prominent who were present in the meeting included Mr.Chander Gaind Secretary Technical Education Board, Mr. Jaspal Singh Kang Controller and Mr. Rajiv Puri Registrar of the board.
