Thousands volunteers will reach every home with Mann’s letter to the people: Aman Arora

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit chief and Member of Parliament from Sangrur has appealed to the people of Punjab through an emotional letter addressed to them will reach every home through party  volunteers shortly.

Divulging details, campaign committee chief and Sunam MLA Aman Arora informed that some 1000 volunteers would carry forward Mann’s message across all across the 13 Lok Sabha election constituency segments. They would also forge connect with people and listening to the problems they were wrestling with.

Mounting a scathing attack on the Amarinder Singh Government, Mann, in his letter, had asked the people if the tall promises it made to the people had been fulfilled. Mann asked if the government had given jobs smart phones to the youth, loan waiver to distressed farmers/ farm hand, Rs 3,000 old-age pension, among others. He further asked if the menace of drugs eating out the vitals of the state had ended, which it had promised to eliminate under oath? He had asked the people to give a befitting answer to them by showing them the doors in the upcoming elections.  

In an emotive letter addressed to the people, Mann had struck an emotional chord with people, saying “I was left the lucrative profession of an artiste earning lakhs with a sole objective to serving you. I said no to booze on the insistence of my mother and in the divine presence so that I could make myself available for you 24X7. It was a nothing but a call from within to be at your service”

Mann further said “As we all are aware, December 27, was the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. On my insistence, the Parliament for the first time post independence paid glowing tributes to the great martyrs. It was indeed a soul-satisfying experience for me as I could do a precious little what others could not do. 

Mann has further said in his letter that people of Punjab living abroad, especially the youth, were subjected to various situations. The youths from the state often go abroad in search of pastures and get trapped there for one or the other reasons. “I had taken solemn vow to extend a helping hand to them. I have always tried to extend his support to them. I have, during my 5-year’ term brought back hundreds of such youths trapped in various countries reach home safe.”

Arora said that in his letter, Mann had lauded the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi, for initiating certain landmark decisions on key issues, like health, education, power, et al. He advised Captain Amarinder Singh to replicate the Delhi model in Punjab.

Mann’s letter also sought to apprise the people that AAP had been supporting the cause of the farmers and always stood by them through thick and thin. In Delhi, the Arvind-led government had implemented the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission report. “I shall try hard to press the Captain Government to implement the report in Punjab as well to salvage the distressed farmers from the debt trap by ensuring better support price of their crops.  

He said, in his letter, that Punjab unit of the party had forced the state government to review the hefty power bills the poor and marginal consumers were getting, adding that the party had formed teams to visit the affected people and get their bills rectified. He made a fervent appeal to the people to vote and support the party to take up and address the core issues like, employment, farm distress, cheaper power, et al.
