-- 08 March,2019

Chandigarh, March 8

Punjab unit chief of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Member of Parliament (MP) from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann said in a  statement issued from party headquarters in Chandigarh here on Friday that, like the land/liquor mafia rampant in the state, transport mafia was flourishing under the protective patronage of Captain Amarinder Singh Government.

In a veiled attack on the Badals owning a fleets of several hundred buses, the Sangrur MP minced no words in saying that the Badals, who allegedly enjoyed the patronage of the Captain Government, were the lords of the biggest transport mafia in the state plying their buses  anywhere and everywhere across the  state and elsewhere in the country. Mann said they (The Badals) were the big sharks in the trade and were eating the small fish, he said.

Mann said that the state government was turning a blind eye to the blatant violations being made by the Badals in managing the flourishing transport trade caring two hoots for the established norms set up by the Transport Authorities.

He alleged that the Badals were usurping worth crores of rupees from the trade, by indulging in turning the ill-gotten black money involving worth several crores into pure white. He said that the Badal clan was running the show without the scantest fear of the law of the land.

Mann demanded that the Captain-led Congress government should to come clean on its loco standi on the issue and nail the powerful transport mafia led by the Badals and initiate action against them and scrap the inter-state routes which the Badals were unauthorized running and spinning money.
